How to read a condition rubric

MINT means the set could leave our desk and sit in a glass case tomorrow. No kerb marks, no corrosion, no clouding of the finish. This grade is given perhaps once in fifty sets.
EXCELLENT means a set that is indistinguishable from MINT at two paces and under good light. Close inspection will reveal one or two minor marks, disclosed in writing.
VERY_GOOD is an honest driver-grade set — presentable, photogenic, but not a showpiece. GOOD is reserved for sets that need a refinish to present well. We rarely list below VERY_GOOD without disclosing a refinish plan.
